Dogs 'n' Dough Review

Back in April I was lucky enough to win a Twitter competition with the restaurant Dogs 'n' Dough. I had never heard of them before, but saw the post on Twitter and decided to chance my luck and enter! Now I never have any sort of luck, not good anyway! But I actually won! I had a week to claim my prize. So I booked a table and decided to head down with my mum. It was close to my birthday so it was a nice little birthday treat. The restaurant itself was easy to find and set under ground which I loved! It reminded me of one of those grunge American bars you see in films/TV programmes. Dark walls, tinted lights, snooker table in the middle. I loved it at first glance! It wasn't very busy, but we went at an early time as to avoid any crowds.

We sat down and was served by the nicest girl we've ever met! She was so friendly and welcoming. She told us we could have a main each, now as the name suggests they serve Dogs (hotdogs) and Dough (pizza) a side each and a total of 10 drinks between us. Which was an extremely generous gift prize! We took a little while to decide what to order as everything sounded so amazing! My mum ordered a beer and I ordered a soft drink, as I was due to give a bone marrow donation a few days later. I chose an American Jones Strawberry Soda. My mum had what was called a Double Douch cocktail, which she absolutely loved! It came in a pint glass and was HUGE!

After 10/15 minutes we FINALLY decided on what we was going to eat. My mum ordered a Meat Feast Pizza with a side of Cheese Fries, and I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Hotdog, with a side of Nachos! When the food came it looked absolutely amazing! The hotdog, and sides came in little plastic baskets with tray paper. And the pizza came in its own pizza box! The nachos came topped with peppers, salsa, guacamole and sour cream. They was honestly the best nachos I have ever tasted! The hotdog was a frankfurter sausage in a bun topped with steak, peppers and cheese sauce. I didn't try the pizza but my mum raved about it! She couldn't get enough and almost ate the full thing to herself! The cheese fries was so tasty and cooked to perfection. Not too salty, not to dry and not at all greasy, just perfect!

We ordered a few more drinks, I had more soft drinks and my mum ordered a few cocktails, which looked so appeasing! Now for the best bit, we was told we could take home one of their famous Dessert Pizzas (prepare yourself for this!) I can hear you asking "what's a dessert pizza?" Well my friends, I'm going to tell you! Their dessert pizzas are a pizza dough base topped with Nutella sauce, marshmallows, and two toppings of your choice, then topped off with either, chocolate, butterscotch or raspberry sauce! Now my sister missed out on the trip so we decided to take the Dessert Pizza home for her to try, so we asked what toppings she would like. She chose Malteasers & Peanut M&M's topped off with butterscotch sauce! I couldn't help myself and had to have a slice before we left, and there is only one word to sum it up ... HEAVEN!

Every week night (Monday - Friday) they have a Happy Hour which runs from 4-7pm. During this time their cocktails are only £4.50. Yes, you read that right, £4.50 per cocktail!! They also offer a variety of offers on their hotdogs and other alcoholic beverages. They have an offer called The Top Dog, which includes two hotdogs and a bottle of prosecco for £27.

So if you're ever in Manchester City Centre and find yourself feeling a little peckish or thirsty, head down to Dogs 'n' Dough. I promise you will not be disappointed!
